Hello Munich!!!
We had a good night's sleep last night on the train. It was comfy and a very special experience.
We arrived at 7am and checked into Jaeger's hostel which is less than 5 min's walk away from train station, very convenient! We had this spacious 4-men room with a nice ensuite bathroom and this already made my day!
No time to lose, we fully utilized our Eurail pass for the day and visited Füssen, a little town located at the foot of the Bavarian Alps 90mins away from Munich. The main attraction is the fairytale-like castle SchloB Neuscheanstein which inspired Disney Cinderella's Castle and SchloB Hohenschwan where King Ludwig II spend his summers. Both castles built by the mad King Ludwig II are spectacular and beautiful but apparently doesn't seem to serve any fortification purposes.
We spent about an hour plus in the castle with a guided tour. The castle just feels too grand to be true. I'm not really satisfied with the amount of area opened to public though, it's just such a small area. No doubt the structure of the castle is spectacular, but I still think that Warwick and Edinburgh castle offer a more realistic picture of the actual castle life in the ancient years.
